WHO WE ARE

Our Story

The Co-Lab Collective (Co-Lab, a play on the word collaboration) was founded by Ossie Vaughn and Daphne Pollard.  These two black women  partnered, because they desired to create a space where collaboration truly matters. Unfortunately, the space they poured so much heart into closed as of December 31, 2025.  So now, we speak of the physical space as a thing of the past.  Daphne and Ossie created a safe space where those who they affectionately called "OUR PEOPLE" grew and developed together.  Friendships were form and family was created.   Both have a great love for culture, art, music, dance, and educating others and it was seen and felt in every event.  Not to mention both have a deep love for community and the things that impact it.  The Co-Lab was an intimate event venue where individuals could host events, mixers, meetings, classes, etc. The Co-Lab gave opportunities for local talent to host listening parties, art shows, and more.  You had to be there to understand how special it really was.

While the physical doors of The Co-Lab Collective have closed, The Co-Lab Collective lives on through its founders. Daphne and Ossie are The Co-Lab Collective—carrying forward the values, vision, and spirit that defined the space. What was once housed within four walls now moves freely through their continued work, relationships, and community-centered efforts.

The Co-Lab was never just a place; it was a reflection of two women committed to collaboration, culture, and collective growth. As Daphne and Ossie continue to evolve, so too does The Co-Lab Collective—finding new ways to convene, create, and serve. The space may be part of the past, but the mission is very much alive.
